From my person tumblr:

“Your major is fashion design?  Oh.  That’s cool.  I’m not really into fashion.”

Well.  You aren’t naked right now.  Therefore, fashion is relevant to you.

You made a cognitive, personal decision to purchase the clothes you’re wearing right now.  Your fashion statement is that you prefer people to assume that you don’t wish to make a statement.  That you’d rather be completely unremarkable looking, and that you want people to like your “personality”.  While you express your discontent with labels and industry, you fail to realize that someone made the clothes on your back.

Or perhaps your reason is some bullshit political theory about consumer driven America.  I’ve got news for you.  Unless you are able to make everything you need to survive with your own two hands, you are a consumer.  This is assuming that you don’t live in a mud hut and eat squirrels.  If you do I apologize.

Fashion is not all money and runways.  Fashion is not parties and glamour and flash photography and bulimia.  Fashion is an art, and personal expression in the form of the very necessary clothes you put on every morning.  You couldn’t live without people like me.

…I’ve always wanted to throw a beverage in someone’s face, and I feel it would be appropriate here.

I think this definitely applies.
Happy Sunday!
